Picture This...

A historic castle with large sun-filled rooms, stained glass windows, charming marble fireplaces, beautiful grounds, weekend adventures and hallways filled with laughter and friendship. That’s the Trafalgar difference when it comes to Boarding.

We understand that moving away from home is a big decision, and so our top priority is ensuring that each Boarding student adjusts to life in a new place. Boarding students are enveloped in a community of caring, compassionate and highly trained professionals to ensure their health, wellness and happiness in calling Trafalgar Castle School their home.

As a small school, we’re committed to knowing each and every girl, and that includes a dedicated boarding staff, led by our Director of Boarding.

This is the Start of Many Great Things

Trafalgar Castle School welcomes applications throughout the year, but spots fill quickly. Families are encouraged to apply early (ideally between October and February for the following September).

Here is what you can expect throughout the application process for our  Boarding Program:

Frequently Asked Questions

I received an Offer Letter from Trafalgar Castle School. What happens now?

Families are asked to sign and return the Offer Letter with a one-time acceptance fee and a deposit as a prepayment toward the tuition fee. Click here to view details about our fees and schedules. Upon receipt of the signed Offer Letter and required payments, your boarding spot is secured for the following year.

The School has a designated number of boarding spots in each of the Grades 7 to 12 and some grades fill quickly. If boarding for your chosen grade becomes full during the application process, you may be offered a place on our Wait List. No acceptance fee or deposit is required for you to be on the Wait List. You will be informed if a space becomes available, at which time a formal Offer Letter will be presented.

Information about payment is included in the Offer Letter package. Payment may be made by cheque, online banking, interact etransfer and wire transfers. Payment may also be made by VISA, MasterCard or American Express via Plastiq, our third-party processor, subject to an applicable fee.

No. Trafalgar Castle School does not act as a Guardian to students. International families must name a Guardian who is either a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident and who resides within a 100 km radius of the School. The Guardian must also be over the age of 21 and speak English fluently. Families may elect to hire third-party consultants to provide Guardianship. Our Admissions Team would be happy to recommend Guardianship companies if required.

Our Boarding and International Admissions Officer is available to support you through the application process and will provide you with the required official Offer Letter, confirming enrolment. It is important to submit your study permit application as soon as possible in order to receive your permit before the start of the school year. The Government of Canada publication, Five Key Steps to Speed Up Your Study Pewrmit Application, is a helpful document. Guardian consultants can also assist with your application. Should your application for a study permit be denied, all fees (minus the application fee) will be refunded once you have provided us with an official letter from the Embassy showing proof of refusal.

Welcome to the Trafalgar Castle School community! The Admissions Team is available to answer any of your questions prior to the start of school. Detailed information about purchasing your uniform, laptop and books will be included in the Summer Mailing that will be emailed to you. We look forward to officially welcoming you on Registration Day!

Every Boarding student is provided with a personal combination safe for valuables, but we strongly recommend that large sums of money be deposited in a bank account. There are local banks within easy walking distance for the School. Banking services for international students make it easy to arrange international money transfers.

Trafalgar Castle School’s mission is to enable each and every student to learn effectively and to improve learning outcomes for all, regardless of race, ancestry, place of origin, colour, ethnic origin, citizenship, creed, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, age, marital status, family status or disability. We are committed to a diverse, inclusive and welcoming environment where everyone — from current and prospective students to families, staff, faculty and community members — feels seen, known, valued and respected.
